DESCRIPTION:Please join us at our Foster Road site to celebrate our 75th anniversary. \nThere will be fun for all the family: take on the Allotment Trail\, find mini-beasts and fruit & vegetables\, build a bug hotel\, do some crafting activities\, and play the Human Fruit Machine. Here is a sneak preview of some of the activities for children… \nhttps://trumpingtonallotments.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/allotments-open-day-activities-for-children.mp4\nChildren are also invited to make mini-bring gardens and bring them along for judging on the day at 1:30pm. There will be prizes\, and a certificate for every entry  \nActivity sheets can be completed solo or with parents. Pencils and crayons provided. \nThings to discover on the Allotment Trail include the apiary\, community polytunnel\, superbutt\, scarecrow\, pond\, bug hotel\, Trading Hut\, compost area.  \nIdentify fruit\, vegetables and herbs at the Smell & Taste Table. \nEveryone can join guided tours of the vegetable allotments\, the community polytunnel\, the apiary\, and our chicken plots. \nDisplays include the history of our allotments since the formation of the society in 1947\, and the Tower of Flowers created by Trumpington Stitchers. Stalls include our neighbours Trumpington Community Orchard and the Wildlife Trust. \nPlus refreshments\, fresh produce\, tombola and more. Free entry. \nWe would especially like past and present members to join us for a group photograph at 1pm. \nThe society was created to manage the new allotments in 1947.  Below is the record of our first meeting in the Village Hall. \nThe record of the society’s inauguration and election of the first committee in 1947. \nThanks to Cambridge City Council for supporting our event. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us at the 14th Trumpington Seedy Sunday! \nThis is a chance to bring and swap self-saved seeds\, exchange surplus bought seed\, and take seeds in exchange for a small donation. Don’t worry if you can’t bring seeds as there are always plenty of seeds to go round. \nEntry costs £2 for adults\, children free. \nThere will be lots of stalls — so many that you will find them in the main hall this year. The seeds have swapped rooms with the stalls . \nFor the first time we welcome Cambridge Community Growing Group\, Community Engagement Network for Cambridge City and South and Local plan consultation with Cllr. Katie Thornburrow. \nAnd all these old friends are back! Heritage Seed Library\, Trumpington Community Orchard\, Thomas Etty Heritage Seed Merchants\, the Wildlife Trust\, Transition Cambridge\, Empty Common Community Garden\, Micah’s Breads\, Smita’s Jams and Chutneys\, Cambridge Cropshare TBC and Waterland Organics TBC\, Peat-free wool compost from Woodview Gardens\, Clay Farm Community Garden\, Dave Jackson Bee products\, Cambridge Sustainable Food TBC\, plus wonderful cakes\, teas and coffee by Trumpington W.I. \nIf you’d like to run a stall or volunteer to help the organisers (with free entry)\, please email us. \nPlease display this poster. \nYou can also follow us on Facebook the latest updates. DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trumpington Pavilion. There’ll be stalls\, and family\, crafts and sports activities.\n\nWe’ll have a stall – we’d like your help. Please give spare vegetables\, fruit\, jams\, chutneys etc\, and small plants. Leave your donations at the plots\, by the Trading Hut\, by 11.30 Saturday morning (21 September)\, or you can bring them directly to the Pavilion event.\n\nWe’d like volunteers to help us set up and run the stall.
